Framelines Picture was established in 1991 by creative visionaries Pietro Valsecchi and Camilla
Nesbitt, with a mission to craft unforgettable cinematic experiences that resonate with audiences
worldwide. Our early productions showcased our commitment to powerful storytelling, including
Michele Placido's "Un eroe borghese" and Marco Bellocchio's "La declino," which earned the
prestigious Silver Bear at the 1991 Berlin Film Festival.
After a decade of cinematic excellence, we expanded our creative reach into television, launching
groundbreaking series like "Ultimo" and "Distretto di Polizia" that captivated millions of viewers.
This television success led to an impressive portfolio of miniseries and biopics including "RIS,"
"Uno bianca," "Francesco," "Paolo Borsellino," "Karol," and "Maria Montessori." These achievements
established our leadership in Italian television and attracted the attention of the Mediaset Group.
In 2009, we celebrated a spectacular return to cinema with the Checco Zalone phenomenon,
producing five record-breaking films that became cultural touchstones in Italy. Our box office
successes include "Tolo Tolo" (2019), "Quo Vado?" (2015), "Che Bella Giornata" (2010),
"Sole a Catinelle" (2013), and "Cado dalle Nubi" (2009). In 2015, we made cinematic history
with "Call Me Francis," the first biopic about Pope Francis, directed by Daniele Luchetti.
In recent years, we've expanded our creative footprint globally. Our French subsidiary Medset
successfully introduced Italian storytelling to French audiences through acclaimed film remakes.
We've also forged strategic partnerships with leading streaming platforms, including Amazon Prime
Video's premiere of "Made in Italy" and our Netflix collaboration on "Yara," directed by Marco
Tullio Giordana. "Yara" achieved global recognition as the most-watched non-English film on
Netflix in November 2021, demonstrating our ability to create content that transcends borders.
